God Spared Noah

    09.11.22 | Grace Kids

God rescued Noah and his family from the flood. The story of Noah points ahead to a greater rescue. God’s Son, Jesus—the only perfectly righteous One—came to take the punishment for our sin. By trusting in Him, we are saved from the punishment our sin deserves.

    Discussion Questions:

Why did God flood the earth?

Why did God choose to spare Noah and his family?

Why does God save anyone from sin?

     Family Prayer:

    Mornings
Ask God to help you trust and obey Him today. How did Noah’s faith in God help him to obey? How does God’s faithfulness help you to trust and obey?

    Evenings
Thank God for the truth that He will always keep His promises. Why can we trust God to always keep His promises? How is Jesus the greatest example of God’s faithfulness?

    Family Activities:

    For Fun...

    1. Help your kids use a prism to separate white light into its component colors. Ask your kids to make predictions about how the light will behave as you move the prism or introduce a second prism. Explain how water droplets can cause a rainbow. Then talk to your kids about why the rainbow is a significant symbol for believers.

    2. Make an origami boat or a boat from other craft supplies. Test the boat’s ability to float in a swimming pool, a pond, or your bathtub. Review the story of Noah. Help your kids understand why God punishes sin and how He has lovingly made a way—like the ark for Noah—through Jesus for us to be saved.
    Supplies: paper or craft supplies

    To Serve...

    1. Volunteer to help at your local animal shelter. Feed animals, clean cages, or take the animals for walks. Talk about everything Noah and his family would have experienced on the ark. God used the ark to rescue Noah’s family and the animals from the flood. But an even greater rescue came through Jesus.
