Date: 10-29-2023

Loving Jesus

  1. In what way(s) are the disciples different in Acts 4 then they were when responding to the persecution surrounding the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus? What role does the love and faithfulness of Jesus for His disciples play in this transformation? What role does the Spirit play?
  2. What’s different and what’s similar about us from these original disciples?

Loving His People

  1. What correlation do you see between bold witness and being knit to a believing community as reported in Acts 4:32-37 and Hebrews 10:23-25?

Loving His World

  1. If you were convinced that by the Holy Spirit you possessed Jesus’ power to share the Word of God and that His Word would increase and bear fruit, what would your witness look like this month? Who would you be most intentional with?

Time of Refreshing (Acts 3)

Community Group Discussion Questions

Helping one another love Jesus, His people, and His world.

Text: Acts 3

Sermon Title: Time of Refreshing

Date:10-22-2023

Loving Jesus

  1. Reflect on the titles for Jesus that Peter uses in chapter 3. How does each of them move you to praise Jesus for who He is?*

Loving His People

  1. The Spirit has come to give us “refreshing” as a foretaste of what is to come (when Jesus restores all things). Where in your life do you long to experience His refreshing?

Loving His World

  1. How does the gospel influence your commitment to compassion and care for those in need? What are some of the ways the gospel should influence our thinking in that regard?*
  2. When you share the gospel with someone, do you call for repentance as Peter did, and do you make the same promises that Peter did? How does if impoverish our witness if we only do one or the other?*
