- Are you more prone to be surprised by suffering or by grace? Explain. How does your answer reveal your reception of being Jesus’ “beloved”? How does it effect the intensity of your suffering?
- Since entrusting our suffering to the Lord is tied to us sharing our sufferings with one another, lets seek to do both together in group. In what way are you suffering most right now?
- Why would it be unloving to give others a sugar-coated view of the prospect of suffering as a Christian? What are the false pseudo-Christian views of suffering that are popular in our culture at large, even in the broad evangelical church?* What kind of witness may your “doing good” in the midst of past or current suffering have on non-Christians in your life?
