Text:1 Peter 1:13-25

Sermon Title: How Should We then Live?

Date:09-25-2022

  1. Take a moment and imagine the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus returns. On that day, what will be your greatest joy? Your deepest need? How can the grace that Jesus will bring to you on that day become grace to you now, in midst of the challenges of today?
  2. What “futile ways” of living are popular in our culture? Which one(s) most tempt you? To love one another well, what truths from 1 Peter do we need to remind one another of to help each other hope in and follow Jesus?
  3. C. S. Lewis wrote, “Aim at Heaven and you will get Earth thrown in; aim at Earth and you will get neither.” Why is loving God’s world dependent on us fixing our hope on the return of Jesus? Overall, what does your conduct suggest about to whom (or what) you are truly dedicated? Does this encourage you, or direct you toward repentance?*
