Making disciples through the mutual ministry of

redemptive relationships

Text: Psalm 119:129-136

Sermon Title: Wake up the Wonder

Date: October 7, 2018

  1. Tell us about a time in your life when you were most consistently saying, “WOW” to the Lord.
  2. What part of following Christ are you currently feeling most familiar with (lack of wonder)? What has changed since the “time of WOW” you shared?
  3. Read 2 Corinthians 3:12-18. What is the key to transformation here? How do we encounter or access this “key”?
  4. For those of you who have participated in the Psalm 119 “Transformed Journal,” please tell us about how the Lord has been moving on you through this process. What was difficult about this endeavor? What was good? What do you want to take with you beyond this study to continue to wake up your wonder of God?
  5. How is your wonder at God these days? Is your relationship with God marked by a growth in awe (as a trajectory)? What particular temptations seem to diminish your wonder in God and/or His Word?
  6. In the sermon, Craig charged us with 4 applications from this text: 1) engage God’s Word personally, 2) Pray verse 18, 3) unfold God’s word in community, and 4) wake up the wonder of God’s Word in “scattered worship.” Which one of these most resonates with you right now and why?
