WHY JOIN A SMALL GROUP?

The Christian life is meant to be a shared life. At Grace Church, we believe Christian growth occurs in a community, not in isolation. We are called to stir up one another to love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24), to bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6:2) and to exercise our spiritual gifts for the building up of the church (1 Cor. 12-14).

Therefore, we provide Small Groups to help each individual build the relationship and friendships that are essential to growing in the Lord and living a gospel-centered life in fulfilling the “one anothers” of Scripture (Gal. 5:13; 6:2; Eph. 4:32; Col. 3:16).

Within Grace Church, Small Groups provide the context for members to meet from “house to house” (Acts 20:20), without neglecting our Sunday gathering of corporate worship (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2).

How Do I join a Group?

COMMIT TO AN OPEN GROUP

If you're a member at Grace Church, you can commit to an open group. This button will connect you to all the community groups that currently have space still open in their groups. We encourage all members at Grace Church to join and commit to a group that works best for them.
If you are new to Grace, you do not need to commit to a group. We welcome you to visit different open groups and find a place you feel comfortable. You can reach out to any group leader about visiting their community group, however please take the Starting Point class first. You can also join a Growth Group, even before your first day of Starting Point.

COMMUNITY GROUP DIRECTORY

In order to keep our small groups small, where everyone can experience being needy and needed, we intentionally keep our community groups small. This means that many community groups aren’t “open” at a given time. However, this directory gives you an idea of the Community Group life going on at Grace Church and familiarizes you with all the Community Group Leaders. From time to time, groups that are not currently “open” to new group members become open and will appear on the Open Groups page.

Join a Growth Group

Growth Groups are seasonal small groups usually centered around a specific season of life or area of spiritual growth being pursued. Typically, Growth Groups meet weekly for 10-16 weeks depending on the specific topic of the group.

WHAT HAPPENS IN small GROUPS?

Our small groups are about growing as disciples of Jesus through the mutual ministry of redemptive relationships.

Connecting with Others

Small Groups provide an opportunity for Christians to develop intimate relationships. Biblical fellowship occurs as we observe and rejoice in God’s work in life we share together.

Personal Life Change

Small Groups provide an ideal context for us to help one another apply Scripture and the Gospel to specific areas of our lives so that we can grow to be more like Jesus.

Serving Others

God has given spiritual gifts to every Christian (1 Corinthians 12:1-7). Small Groups allow for a smaller, personal context where each one can serve and use their specific gifts to serve one another.

Loving Others

The Small Group allows every individual in the church to give and receive practical care: from baby showers to help with moving or household repairs or even a ride to church. Being part of Small Group connects you to people with whom you can mutually share the practical burdens of life.
