Every believer, as a servant of Christ, has the task of serving God with his or her life. We eagerly wait for the day we can share in the joy of our Master. Heaven is the joy of knowing, worshiping, and enjoying Jesus forever.

LIL GK STORY:
DISCUSSION: Does the story about the servants remind you of any other stories you’ve heard?
A story of a man of God being given more and more responsibility as he takes care of what God gives him? (Joseph)
Or a story of someone hiding something to keep it safe, but it ends up getting worse because of that? (Frozen - Elsa)
STORY: In this Scripture passage, we see that each servant was given an amount of money by their master and also the command to use the money wisely. While two of the servants put what they had been given to good use, one of the servants did the opposite. Rather than follow the master’s instructions, the servant decided to do nothing with the money he had been given. Jesus gave his life to love and serve the world. Those who believe in Jesus can show their love for Him by giving their life to serve him. Some ways we do this are by feeding those who are hungry, clothing those in need, and helping those who are sick. When we serve others in these ways, we are serving the Lord. While we wait for Jesus’ return, we can work to serve Him and tell others about Him. We’ve received so many blessings through Jesus Christ. Like the servants were commanded to use the money they had been given wisely, Christ-followers are commanded to use the talents and blessings we have been given to serve God and others. This is how we worship the One who has loved and served us!
QUESTION: In our story what was the reason the Master gave his servants different amounts of money?
ANSWER: “To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability.” Matthew 25:15 - each according to his ability
QUESTION: So the master gave different amounts and the servants brought different amounts back – did the master praise the servant who made 5 more bags of gold more than the one who brought back 2 bags.
ANSWER: No, he said the same thing to both of them. “You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’” Matthew 25:21 and 23. This shows the master just wanted to see them use it, he wasn’t expecting 2 bags to turn into 5, and highlights that he is a good master, because he is then sharing his wealth, his happiness, with them.
