Loving Jesus

  1. As a group exercise, read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, but replace the word “love” and “it” with “Jesus” each time their used. Describe your experience of doing so to the group.

Loving His People

  1. Which quality of love listed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 do you most naturally demonstrate in your relationships? Which is most difficult for you? Explain.*
  2. How might your answers above impact your attempts to love cross-culturally?

Loving His World

  1. How does our culture define love? What is similar and what is different when compared to the biblical definition found in 1 Corinthians 13?
  2. How can these difference(es) impact our pursuit of loving cross-culturally?

  1. How much thought do you give to the eternal fellowship of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit? Why does the Trinity alone model and enable the unity that Jesus prays for us to enjoy?

Loving His People

  1. What are the most obvious or significant differences we have in our group? Explain why having unity in Jesus is enough to hold us all together as one?

Loving His World

  1. Why do you think the church experiencing unity in diversity so powerfully moves the watching world to amazement and wonder? Have you ever seen “the world” take notice of the church for these reasons?
