  1. Read Matthew 28 and 2 Corinthians 5:11-21.How does Christ’s death and resurrection shape our identity and life calling?
  1. What in life (life in general or your life specifically) makes it difficult for you to see that Christ is reigning as King overall all, today?
  2. In what ways do you see Jesus’ kingly reign on display around you?
  3. To be a part of Jesus kingdom both cost you everything (your whole life) and it is absolutely free (you can't do anything to earn or deserve it). Which one of these truths about God’s kingdom is easiest to embrace? Why?
  4. What specific things (opportunities, gifts, relationships, etc.) has the Lord given you in order to display His current reign?

                    Sermon Title: Praying in the Face of Trouble

Date: April 7, 2019 

  1. Are you in a season where you are experiencing God more as present or absent? Explain.
  2. Read the Book of Habakkuk as a whole. What is different about Habakkuk’s circumstances in chapter three than in chapter one? What is different about his perspective? What was God’s primary instrument of transformation?
  3. What past graces can you rehearse in order to foster gratitude today and hope for tomorrow? (Where has God met you (rescued, provided, transformed, or restored) in the past?)
  4. If God clearly told you that He wasn't ever going to change your difficult circumstances or that He was, in fact, going to let your worst fears come true, would you to sing this song of unshakable joy found in chapter 3, particularly vv. 17-19? Explain.
  5. In what ways can you prepare your heart now to sing of God’s faithfulness then? What would this preparation look like in your life?What is one step you can take this week to further pursue this formation?
  6. Who in your life do you long for God to make His mercy known to? What does your prayer life look like for this person?
