1. Read Matthew 7:7-11 to learn more about what a good father is like. In your own words, tell what believers are encouraged to do in verse 7. What does this passage tell us about the type of father God is?

2. Do you feel comfortable addressing God as Father? What hesitations (if any) do you have about thinking of God this way?

3. In trying to balance our confidence before God with our reverence for Him, which way do you think the contemporary church usually errs? Why do you think that is? 

4. Which way do you personally tend to err?

5. Which particular aspect of God’s fatherhood (nearness, care and provision) brings you the most comfort today? Explain.
