1. Read 1 Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13 and 2 Peter 3:8-15. What common themes do you see in these passages that we also see in Mark 1:1-8? Why are they important themes to focus on during advent?
2. In what way(s) are you currently in a desert like place?
3. How is God using this location to help you see your need for Him afresh?
4. Where in your life have you grown comfortable, drowsy, desensitized, or cold? In other words, where do you see need to repent?
5. What about Jesus’ first arrival can help you trust Him?
