1. Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-31. Why does God call and use unlikely and unimpressive people?
2. How are you tempted to fill in the blank and disqualify yourself from being used by God: “God can’t use me because —————-?”
3. How does the story of Shamgar (and the rest of the Bible) challenge this thought? 
4. According to the world, it appears foolish for God to choose each of us to be His Kingdom instruments. What unlikely or unimpressive characteristic about you makes His choice seem foolish?  How may He use this particular weakness to magnify His power and glory? 
5. What other encouragement did you draw from this text this week?

2. From hindsight, what difficult or painful detail about your life in the past have you seen God use to do you good?
3. What current detail about your life is difficult for you to see God behind, using it to guide and save you somehow?
4. What is He calling you to do with His detail? Why? What Help do you think He is willing to give you to do it?
